Tooele County is on the west side of Utah, bordering Nevada, and it's the second-largest county in the state. Tooele is the county seat and the largest city.
Most of the towns are on the east side in Tooele Valley, between the Oquirrh and Stansbury mountains. The western half is mostly the Great Salt Lake Desert, with Wendover out on the Nevada line.

Bonneville Salt Flats
A huge salt pan managed by the Bureau of Land Management, famous for land speed records at the Bonneville Speedway. It's open to the public.
Deseret Peak
The highest peak in the Stansbury Mountains at 11,035 feet, in the Deseret Peak Wilderness west of Grantsville. It's a favorite for hikers and backcountry skiers.
Benson Grist Mill
A restored pioneer gristmill and museum along State Route 138.
Utah State University campuses
USU has campuses in Tooele and Wendover.
Getting around
Main roads and transit in and out of the county.
The main route to the Salt Lake Valley goes through the gap between the Oquirrh Mountains and the Great Salt Lake.
UTA runs buses between Tooele and Salt Lake County.
